Profile: Christian Sanelli

by Mary A. Hussey

Meet Christian (Chris) Sanelli, a devoted fan of the Cosmopolitan Club. Chris, who is from Rochester, New York, has an ancestry that is three-fourths Italian and one-fourth French. He is employed by a firm in Champaign as a computer programmer, a position which he enjoys, as he has always been interested in mechanics and in activities that demand technical skills. Chris obtained a B.S. degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an M.S. from the University of Illinois.

Prior to his association with the Cosmo Club, Christian felt that he had a dull life, partly because he'd never gone overseas (he still hasn't) and partly because nothing near-fatal or near-disastrous had ever happened to him (it still hasn't). Nevertheless, he enjoys tennis, though he doesn't have much time for that hobby.

He was introduced to Cosmo by a Pakistani friend some six or seven years ago, when he attended one of our dinners. He liked what he saw, heard, and ate, and has been a regular at our programs ever since. He says that his first impression of the group and the house was that it was a "nice place to be in," and he has continued to feel the informality and friendliness surrounding everybody--an atmosphere we all try to create and maintain.

Probably some who attend Cosmo dinners and coffee hours think that he is a resident of the house, because they associate him with our club. Cosmo is happy to present to you, our alums, Chris Sanelli, an enthusiastic supporter of Cosmo.
