Visit to Hyderabad (Jan 7-9, 2004)

Hyderabad landmarks : Charminar and a view from it, Mecca Masjid (so called because it used stone(s) brought from Mecca).

The Buddha Statue on Hussein Sagar lake (somebody claimed it was the largest Buddha statue with some restrictions like single-rock, etc.), sunset in Hyderabad, Birla temple, NTR park and bonsai.

Golconda fort, temple on top with rock shaped like bull, and a snake to remind us that India is, after all, the land of snakes and snake-charmers.

Also, apparently, there is this tunnel running from the fort to Charminar which a certain Raja/Nawab used to rendezvous with his lady love.

Hussein Sagar lake, Cyberabad (HiTech City), pic from train

Ramoji Fiml City - supposedly the biggest film city in the world.
Caves with statues within it, Mughal Garden, other gardens, a train set, horse-rider, alligator-instructor, Eureka (the name of the main place with lots of mini-sets and gift shops)
